Vervain tema a tema.
My wilderness
My love decay.
Stronghold of angels
Elucidation.
Two and a hearth
Between Gothic and Commercial.
Liv Kristine Gothic Metal muse , with a long carreer. We meet her in most of the principal bands of the genre , Theater of Pain, Leaves’ Eyes including her solo carreer. Her personal voice is well-known in the gothic scence by her soft tone and a high-pitched timbre.
She presents her new release Vervain, better than the release before. The way she made this good album included two lines of development, on one side, the return to her Gothic sound that she dominates so good, with dark songs where her whispering voice shines; and on the other side, the album includes some important guests, Michelle Darkness of End of Green and Doro Pesch in Stroghold of Angels.
Vervain Track by Track.
My wilderness
A commercial track in Gothic style. We have no doubt that Gothic music fans will be delighted with this song. This song remains me Within’s style.
My love decay.
This theme is deeper and darker, the most gothic song of the album. With the deep voice Michelle Darkness in contrast with the Liv Kristine’s own. It’s not extreme metal song but it’s gothic.
Vervain
Vervain the song that gives the album’s name has a sound near to the last period of his carrer in Theater of Pain, but with softer arrangements.
Stronghold of angels
This song is extremly metallic, that is normal keeping it in mind that Doro Pesch, one of the queens of true metal, sings with Liv. It’s There’s no the awaited contrast of voices but the hard Doro’s voice brings closer to Liv’s soften it and Liv’s voice toughen it to make the same. Both voices adapt them, one to each other.
Hunters.
This Vervain’s song has electronic elements, Liv Kristine turns to Theater of Tragedy’s electronic style in the same way of other tracks of Vervain.
Lotus.
Melancolic feeling is spreading on the notes of this low tempo song. Sad ballad, that fits allright at Liv Kristine voice.
Elucidation.
The return electrónic Goth. It seems pretty much Theater of Tragedy second age. Not the best song of this album.
Two and a hearth
Gothic keyboads, a piano, a delicate female voice, but I think that the second vocals (beast vocals) are erased from de song.
Creeper.
A new song that seem so much with another songs of Liv. We have heard one hundred times similar songs in the Liv’s repertoire . We don’t want that Liv will change her fantastic style, we don’t want a cliché songs.
Obvious
Another soft song in the album’s end .
Unbreakable
Another delicate song in first Vervain bonus track. Piano, chelo and the marvelous voice of Liv Kristine.
There’s a two more bonus tracks in Vervain that are Love Decay and Stronghold of Angels but without gests, songs sung only by Liv Kristine.
